"Lois & Clark" or "Getting Ready"
I'm starting some boards for my portfolio based on the Richard Donner script for Superman II. Before going into it whole hog though I thought it'd be fun to do some preliminary sketches. Here's a doodle I'm particularly pleased with.
 What do you think sirs?

"Teardrop Thanks" or "Drawing Cards"
While staying with her parents this summer Lisa and I were gifted with a toolbag from some of her neighbors. It was very thoughtful since they had seen us continue to work on the trailer with our tools rattling around in a cardboard box while we were there. Lisa asked me to draw a thank you note.

"Zeniff Part III" or "Cover Detail"
I've been working away on the next installment of Zeniff for Sunstone. I put the finishing touches on the cover this morning and thought I should share a piece of it. I had thought of going Art Nouveau this time around but the story didn't really lend itself to it. This month's storyline is a lot more violent so I thought I would go in a much different direction.
I'm really pleased with how it turned out. What do you think sirs?

"Zeniff and Abinadi Ride Again" or "Part III"
Started work on the next installment for Sunstone's ongoing Book of Mormon comic series. I'm always excited to get Stephen's story and thumbnails to see where he's taking the storyline. Hes really expanded the characters and details which are really glossed over in the actual narrative.
Take in point, Abinadi. By the time he actually makes an appearance in the Book of Mormon he's raining some hard doctrine and repentance on Zeniff's son who grew up to be a wicked, slothful king. Stephen on the other hand introduces him early on when Zeniff's band are going to start settling Lamanite territory. I've been drawing him bald, badass and sporting a handlebar mustache and he and King Zeniff are close friends. Zeniff relies on him for judgment and spiritual guidance.
It makes what happens ultimately to Abinadi that much more tragic.
But not this issue...right now Zeniff and Abinadi are getting ready to defend their home turf...with a little help from above.
