"Demo Reel 2009" or "Boy, that goes by fast!"
After much procrastination, I've finally updated my demo reel!  Most of my stuff seems to come from Lola, but considering that's what I've predominately been working on, makes sense.

Also from looking at it...I animate a lot of RUNNING.

"Pitch Board" or "The Perfect Shot"
I'm getting ready to do a pitch to the Lola directors about doing a short for the Lola DVD.  Don't want to divulge too much until I do the pitch...and probably not a lot AFTER, but thought it might be fun to post one of the boards I'm going to use at the pitch.

Lola Cast
Been working on this the last couple of days and put the finishing touches on it today.  It's a drawing of (practically) the whole cast from Lola.  I sent it to the directors who were thrilled and want to put it on t shirts.

"Daily Doodes Past" or "Good Intentions"
The start of this year I resolved to do a doodle a day...and for the first few months I did really well.  Here are some highlights from January:

I call this one "Tango."  I was going for a highly stylized cutout look.

This one is called "Three Jacks."  Name them all!

"And then Came Lola"
Haven't updated for a while but I'm pleased to report that it's because I've been extremely busy this last year.
In October I met two terrific filmmakers, Ellen Seidler and Megan Siler who pitched me the idea...a fun comedy take on the famous German flick "Run Lola Run,"  and ultimately brought me on board to do the animation for the feature.

blogLola.pngNeedless to say I was thrilled and working on the movie has been both exhausting and utterly delightful.  I had such a great time animating Lola and various other characters in the movie that when I met the live action actresses I'm sure I weirded them out.
"You played Lola!  I feel like I know you!"
The movie debuted in June in San Francisco and has since played at various film festivals across the US, including Philadelphia and Outfest in LA.  Pretty freaky deaky exciting!
